Privacy policy

This policy explains what Maximise Your Points ([YOUR TRADING NAME / LTD COMPANY], [Registered or trading address]) collects when you use maximisepoints.com, why, and what you can do about it. We are the data controller. Contact: hello@maximisepoints.com.

What we collect

• Quiz answers. Your goals, which cards you've held and still hold, approximate income band, approximate monthly spend, whether you have a partner and their card history, business status, fee appetite, how often you fly, and how many people you could refer. We ask for bands rather than exact figures on purpose.
• Contact details. First name and email address, which you give us to receive your plan.
• Technical data. Browser user agent and, when you submit the quiz, your IP address. If you accept the cookie choice, Meta's cookies (see the cookie policy).
• Email activity. Which of our emails have been sent to you and whether you unsubscribed.
• Clicks on links to card issuers, so we can see which cards people are interested in. These are recorded against your submission, not your name.

Why, and the lawful basis

• Building and emailing your plan: performance of the service you asked for (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• The newsletter (boosted offers, card changes, guides): your consent, given by ticking the box on the quiz. Withdraw it any time with the unsubscribe link in every email or by emailing us (Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Improving the quiz and the plan, in aggregate: our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Measuring advertising with Meta: your consent via the cookie choice (Art. 6(1)(a) and PECR).

Who we share it with

Processors acting on our instructions: Vercel (hosting, USA/EU), Google Firebase (database, stored in London, europe-west2), our email delivery provider, and, only if you accepted the cookie choice, Meta Platforms Ireland (advertising measurement; your email and first name are hashed before they're sent). We don't sell your data. We don't share it with card issuers.

International transfers

Some processors are in the USA. Transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, as applicable.

How long we keep it

Quiz submissions and your subscriber record for as long as you're subscribed and for up to 24 months after you unsubscribe, so we can honour the 24-month card rules if you come back; then deleted or anonymised. Email us and we'll delete sooner.

Your rights

Access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, plus the right to withdraw consent. Email hello@maximisepoints.com; we respond within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The site is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

We'll update the date at the top and, for anything material, email subscribers.
